From Shoyeido's Selects range - Baija-ju - evoking the scents of Sprintime.
Baika-ju means Plum Blossom in Japanese. Also known as "The Flower of Peace", Plum Blossom has a very important place in Japanese literature and symbolism. The Plum tree is one of the first to bloom in early spring - hence it is seen as a metaphor for re-birth, resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity.
The ingredients for this incense include Sandalwood, Saussurea (a high Alpine plant) and Cinnamon - evoking the scent of a forest in Springtime. This has a very light Floral aroma underneath the Sandalwood base notes - not sweet or over-powering, so a recommended incense for spicy/woody aroma lovers to try something new, without straying too far off track.
