A hand-carved Incense Censer in natural stone - Seville style

Incense Censers are generally larger than Incense holders and bowls - this item being just over 5 inches tall. It comes in two parts - a lower 'bowl' and upper lid. The lid is pierced to reflect an air of the Southern Spain, with its architectural heritage from Moorish times.

From the 8th to the late 15th Century CE, Southern Spain was ruled by Muslims from Northern Africa and Arab countries, and their distinct architecture is still very visible and popular today. Hence this censer being named Seville, the capital of southern Spain’s Andalusia region.

When burning resins and cones with this censer, keep the lid on and the aromatic smoke will diffuse through the holes into the room. Remove the lid when burning Incense Sticks. The large size of this Seville censer makes this ideal for Japanese, Indian and Tibetan Incense Sticks.

The lower bowl element needs to be filled with sand, which we sell (follow these links) Black Volcanic Sand, White Marble Sand, Orange Sand and Red/Brown Sand.

Each Seville Censer is handmade from natural stone, so each one will vary slightly in appearance and weight.

Features:

  • Hand-carved Natural stone in two parts (lower bowl and upper pierced lid)
  • Black in colour
  • 12.5 cm in height (approx. 5 inches)
  • 10 cm in diameter (approx. 4 inches)
  • Ships in a colourful box
  • Handmade in Agra, India (near the Taj Mahal and the sacred river Yamuna)

Also available in a Venice style here.

Vectis Karma stock a wide range of
Incense Holders/Burners/Bowls - made from a variety of materials including Stone, Metal, Wood and Ceramic. Also, in our shop, you'll be able to choose from around 400 Incense Stick and Cone products. If you need any help matching an Incense product with a Burner/Holder/Bowl please message us and we'll be pleased to help you make the right choice for you.

Tips on burning Incense Sticks:

Light the tip of the stick with a match or lighter, then gently blow or fan out the flame, leaving a red ember burning at the tip of the stick. Then insert the stick into the holder.

Things to be cautious about when using this incense holder:

Incense sticks are safer than candles – no open flame – but please be sensible; do not burn unattended. Don’t place in a drafty position (will burn down too quickly and dissipate aroma). Make sure Incense is fully extinguished before leaving the room. Keep out of the reach of children and animals.
